Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) is responsible for safeguarding Canada’s waters and managing fisheries and oceans resources. We help to ensure healthy and sustainable aquatic ecosystems through habitat protection and sound science. We support economic growth in the marine and fisheries sectors, and innovation in areas such as aquaculture and biotechnology.
As a part of open science, we believe that communicating the results of our research is important to ensure that Canadians are well informed about issues that are key priorities and of public interest. DFO contributions to the Federal Open Science Repository of Canada include a variety of scientific and technical documents related to our departmental priorities.
