dc.description.abstract - en: Avian influenza A (H5Nx) viruses have been reported globally, leading to large outbreaks in poultry, wild birds, and mammals. Recent H5 viruses have emerged or re-emerged, causing concern on the potential transmission and spectrum of the burden of disease in humans. This living evidence profile aims to identify the current state of evidence and knowledge gaps from existing evidence syntheses related to the emergence, transmission and spectrum of the burden of disease in humans of avian influenza as a first step towards informing prevention and mitigation interventions.
