Abstract

In a targeted survey, 1224 samples of leafy herbs were analyzed for bacterial pathogens and generic E. coli. 1 sample was found to be contaminated with Salmonella and 10 samples were found to have elevated levels of generic E. coli. All positive samples were subject to food safety investigations and appropriate follow-up activities were conducted by the CFIA. 1 product recall resulted from the positive Salmonella sample.
