Abstract
Marine work is subject to the various environmental regulations, and a number of laws, regulations and guidelines must be considered with regard to maintenance dredging work and port-development construction and expansion. This document describes these administrative and legal provisions, highlights the obligations and requirements related thereto and indicates their applicability in light of the various characteristics of the projects contemplated. Marine projects must also be carried out in accordance with the provisions set forth in the guidelines and regulations governing land use, navigation, waste management and natural resource protection. However, because the existing environmental regulatory framework is in the process of being modified this guide will be revised and corrected to reflect the changes as they are made.
