Abstract
As part of the Children's Food Project, 821 samples of candy, cereals, chocolate, dairy products, juice, meat products, nuts and seeds and processed fruit and vegetable products were analyzed for pesticide residues and metals. 98.6% of the pesticide residue results were in compliance with Canadian maximum residue limits (MRLs). It was determined that positive samples tested for metals were not expected to pose a human health concern.
