Environment and Climate Change Canada works to improve the characterization of land cover to support environmental monitoring, assessment and prediction, including the use of earth observation technology. Documents in this collection cover the monitoring and study of toxic substances such as pesticides, heavy metals and other toxic contaminants to assess their effects on soil systems, the impacts of agriculture and land use on ecosystems, as well as water quality and quantity across landscapes.
